Couples who want to end their day with a stunning sunset wedding drive the short distance to the west coast (Gulf side) of Florida, while couples who want to start their day with a wedding trek to the east (Atlantic side) Florida. Taking the scenic short 2 hour trip to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico allows you and your guests to put your toes in the warm clear waters of what we call Orlando’s beach.
Compare the Surf & Sand
You’ll find tan colored shell-filled sand and a stronger surf on the Atlantic, while our side shows off white, softer sand and calmer waters . Treasure Island and Clearwater’s Sand Key Beach Park have wide, spacious beaches, plenty of parking and lighter sand. The vegetation you’ll see on your way to the beach includes palm trees, sea oats and sea grapes. Orlando’s outdoor spaces include parks. Although we have parks here too, most couples prefer to make the short drive to “Orlando’s beach” for the surf, sand and sea bird experience.
Romance, Nature & Spaciousness
Orlando is great for theme park and other entertainment; however the beaches of Tampa Bay are great for romance, nature and spacious views. Day trip weddings are available at many beautiful public beach accesses, complete with ample parking, restrooms and radiant views. If you have planned a weeklong stay in Orlando, you could take a tiny getaway and spend one night away at an affordable or deluxe waterfront property. We will recommend a wide range of lodging. In some communities, such as St Pete Beach and Treasure island, there are condo hotels, resorts and motels where you can get ready for wedding, walk right outside to your “Orlando’s beach” wedding; celebrate at a nearby restaurant and return to the room for the night. Many families and couples come to Orlando for part of their stay; then come to our Central Florida beaches for the rest of their vacation and weddingmoon (or vice versa). After getting married or re-married, couples often return to our friendly and lovely beach communities time and time again. If you choose an Orlando’s beach wedding in Clearwater, Indian Rocks, Indian Shores, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island or Sand Key Beach you will not only find it worth the drive, you will find it worth the money and you’ll be happy you made the decision to come to the west coast of Florida for your wedding ceremony.
