North Beach Weddings
Clearwater Beach is a more populated, pedestrian oriented community voted one of the best beaches in the world for many years. Elegant high rise hotels, such as the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach and the new luxury Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach offer spacious rooms, entertainment and dining all in one location. Many small motels, cottages and condo hotels line the shore and the inland waterway, called Boca Ciega Bay. Due to higher minimums and restrictions at hotel beaches in Clearwater, most weddings take place at nearby public beaches.
Central/South Beach Weddings
The communities of Indian Rocks & Indian Shores have kept the “old Florida feel” with many beachside cottages. There are still cottages and small motels for rent in Clearwater and Treasure Island too. St Pete Beach has a few larger properties and many small “Ma and Pa” motels that are terrific for family groups. Some properties don’t charge site fees for weddings that occur at their beach. (Ask our Wedding Concierge for specific details)
Treasure Island is also the home of the world famous Thunderbird Beach Resort. Located at the end of Central Avenue in the heart of this casual beach town, the privately owned facility has welcomed Resort wedding couples and family vacations since the 1950’s. Feola’s Italian Restaurant offers delicious & affordable meals in the courtyard or banquet room. The Thunderbird’s tiki bar next to Treasure Island’s beach sidewalk is a fun place for drinks and “Jimmy Buffet” style entertainment.
As we leave Treasure Island, we reach the town of St. Pete Beach home to the Dolphin Beach Resort. With a world class tiki bar, banquet halls, and an on site restaurant this resort makes a great choice for any type of group.
