Want a whole boat to yourself but don’t want to pay the price for a dinner charter? The lunch charter is an amazing deal with all the same features of an evening cruise. Although the cruises are one stop shop, some couples prefer to work with a venue that allows them to make more choices.
Banquet Hall Receptions
Rather than all inclusive event venues, like the dinner cruises, brides who prefer the freedom of planning and coordinating receptions often opt for a banquet hall reception or a picnic reception. Banquet halls are free standing or inside a hotel or event center where the usual traditions of cake cutting and bouquet/garter toss can take place.
Brides who are talented with details and organization skills find banquet halls; so they may decorate, choose all the vendors and coordinate their celebration. Banquet halls allow opportunity for dancing and other entertainment.
Brides and grooms with larger guest lists and destination wedding groups often research Resorts for their event venues. Resorts have catering sales departments that provide catering services and vendor lists. Their suggestions include DJ’s, live entertainers and cake companies. Within their wedding reception packages, hotel sales departments include tables, chairs, catering, bar service and linens. A few local hotels have deck space next to the sand for wedding receptions. At other event venues, such as the Verizon Event Center in Largo or Palm Harbor the bride rents or brings her own tables & chairs, linens and decorations. She also hires bar and catering services and entertainment. The Magic Dance Club in Largo includes tables, and chairs within their space rental.

Instead of the more traditional experience of having a reception at a banquet hall, some couples pick picnic shelters for a more casual reception gathering. Friends may bring pot luck food, take out meals from places like Carrabba’s and Sonny’s BBQ or the family and friends can use the park’s barbecues for hot dogs, chicken or hamburger meals.
